GameFeeder ("we," "our," or "us") operates the GameFeeder mobile application and the website at gamefeeder.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use GameFeeder.

1. Who We Are

GameFeeder is a social platform built for hunters and anglers. Our Service lets you log harvests, share content with other users, maintain a gear loadout, and explore a community map of harvests. For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@gamefeeder.app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: Email address, username, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see your plain-text password).
• Profile information: Profile photo, biography, and any other details you choose to add to your public profile.
• Post content: Photos, videos, captions, and structured harvest data you submit when creating a post — including species, gear used, shot distance, weather conditions, field tag numbers, and similar details.
• Gear Locker: Equipment information you voluntarily add to your public gear profile (firearms, bows, rods, ammunition, lures, etc.).
• Comments and interactions: Text you submit as comments, and your likes or follows on other users' content.

2.2 Location Information

When you opt in to GPS location:

• Your exact coordinates are stored securely and are never shared publicly or with other users.
• All public-facing maps display only a fuzzed location, shifted ±3–5 miles from your actual position, to protect your hunting spots.
• You may always set a post location manually using a map pin instead of GPS.
• Field tag numbers associated with your harvest are encrypted at rest.

2.3 Device and Technical Information

• Push notification token: If you enable push notifications, we store a device token provided by your operating system. It is used only to deliver notifications to your device.
• Crash and error data: When the app encounters an error, our error-monitoring service receives technical information — device model, OS version, and a crash trace — to help us fix bugs. No post content or GPS data is included in crash reports.
• Usage events: We collect anonymized events about how you use the app (e.g., screens visited, features used) to understand what works and what needs improvement.

2.4 Sign-In Provider Data

If you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers share a limited profile (name and email address) with us in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not receive your Google or Apple contacts, photos, or other social data.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• Display your profile, posts, and gear to other users as you intend when you publish content.
• Power the social feed, community map, personal stats, and explore features.
• Send push notifications you have requested (e.g., new followers, likes, comments on your posts).
• Monitor errors and crashes to improve app stability and performance.
• Understand usage patterns in aggregate to prioritize new features.
• Enforce our Terms of Use and community standards.
• Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Other users: Your profile, posts, public gear list, and comments are visible to other GameFeeder users as you intend when posting. Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared with other users.
• Service providers: We use third-party companies to operate our Service (listed in Section 6). They access your data only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for other purposes.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfers: If GameFeeder is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete a post, it is removed from public view immediately and deleted from our systems within 30 days. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where required to retain it for legal purposes.

Content other users have interacted with (e.g., a post you commented on) may remain in modified form after deletion — for example, deleted comments are replaced with "Comment deleted" while replies from others are preserved.

6. Third-Party Services

GameFeeder uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase (supabase.com): Our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Supabase stores your account data, posts, and uploaded media. Data is stored in the United States. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase / Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. We store only your device push token; no other Firebase features are used for data collection. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog (posthog.com): Analytics. We collect anonymized events about feature usage to improve the Service. No post content, GPS data, or full identity is shared. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.
• Sentry (sentry.io): Error monitoring. When the app crashes, Sentry receives technical diagnostic data (device model, OS version, stack trace) to help us fix bugs. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.
• OpenStreetMap: Map imagery is served by OpenStreetMap tile providers. Your IP address may be logged by tile servers when loading map imagery. GameFeeder does not share any user data with OpenStreetMap. See the OSM Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: You may update your profile information at any time within the app.
• Deletion: You may delete your account from within the app settings, or by contacting us at privacy@gamefeeder.app.
• Notifications: You may enable or disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
• Location: You may deny location permission in your device settings. You will still be able to set post locations manually using a map pin.

8. Children's Privacy

GameFeeder is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at privacy@gamefeeder.app and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Passwords are never stored in plaintext. Uploaded media is stored in access-controlled cloud storage. Exact GPS coordinates are encrypted at rest and protected by row-level security policies. Images are stripped of EXIF metadata (which can contain embedded GPS data) before storage.

No method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@gamefeeder.app.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notifying you within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
